
Dr. Bradley Bakotic - A Unique Background in Pathology, Dermatology, and Podiatry
Before beginning a career that would see him become the only podiatrist in the United States board-certified in dermatopathology, anatomic pathology, and clinical pathology, Dr. Bradley Bakotic was an undergraduate studying at Barry University. He graduated with a bachelor of science from the Miami-area school and remained there for his graduate studies, which culminated in his earning a master’s degree in biomedical sciences. Dr. Bradley Bakotic subsequently pursued the first of his two medical degrees, procuring from Barry University a doctor of podiatric medicine (DPM) and graduating as the valedictorian of his class. He then matriculated at the University of New England, where he graduated cum laude with a doctor of osteopathy (DO).
For his postgraduate training, Dr. Bradley Bakotic undertook a composite residency in pathology at the Baystate Medical Center at Tufts University Medical School and the Greater Miami-based Mount Sinai Medical Center, garnering distinction as chief pathology resident at the latter institution. He completed a fellowship in oncologic surgical pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatology, Columbia University, where he was named chief fellow.
Over the course of a career spanning more than two decades, Dr. Bradley Bakotic has drawn on his unique background in podiatry, dermatology, and pathology to advance care in his field. He was a cofounder of a non-profit foundation dedicated to educating non-dermatologist physicians on dermatologic condition related to the lower extremity. Dr. Bakotic has spoken at more than a thousand educational meetings in the U.S. and abroad and has been published two dozen times in peer-reviewed journals. Previously the CEO of Bako Integrated Physician Solutions, he led a company that has become a leader in lab diagnostics and therapeutic options for medical conditions involving the lower extremity.
Dr. Bradley Bakotic has personally cared for patients from every state in the country, and currently holds active licenses in Ohio, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Illinois, Mississippi and Florida. ,Accomplished in his field, he holds an honorary doctorate from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.
